The European Investment Bank - facing challenges as it turns 50
when: 01 July 2008
Where: European Parliament - Brussels

Event description:
With annual lending volumes now approaching EUR 50 billion, the EIB is the number one public bank in the world.

In its 50 years of operations, the scope of the EIB’s operations has changed considerably in comparison with its original mandate to mobilise and transfer capital from richer to poor EU regions through the financing of infrastructure projects.

Welcome to a debate on the challenges faced today by the EIB as a result of the increased role it is playing as a development bank in regions outside the EU.
